This jean is made from a Japanese ripstop box-woven fabric.
Ripstop is a traditional and ingenious way of making extremely strong yet lightweight textiles. (Think parachutes, commando uniforms, jujitsu kimonos, racing sails, etc.) If there’s a rip, it stops at the edge of the box.
More ripstropotriva: It’s hard to grip (which is why a lot of martial arts practitioners love it) so if you find yourself in an impromptu grappling situation, count yourself lucky if you’re wearing these pants.
These fit a bit small, so order one size bigger than you normally wear.
